Iran - Kenya

Going forward in the millennium, nations are going to come across a large population of about 8 billion people pursuing a large number of food and health needs. Although all these scales, at first glance, sound mind-blowing and kind of scary, they are not actually. A developed system of easy communications among the people seeking their needs and the ones meeting those needs, will lead to some seamless commercial engagements addressing the real needs with real prices these fields
Consequently, states all over the world, regarding food and health needs follow policies that result in manufacture of high-quality products in these areas as far as their capabilities admit. Iran, as well as others, but with a higher set of capabilities has thrived in recent years in these sectors and has managed to achieve top ranks in science and technology areas, responsible of which is Iranian vice presidency for science and technology (CISTC).

The Islamic Republic of Iran has many capabilities in the field of technical-engineering services, and can export worth 40 billion dollars in this field. There are lots of Iranian knowledge enterprises in the areas of agriculture, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals
When it comes to pharmaceuticals, whether biological or chemical, Iran currently produces a high percent of its medicinal needs domestically — from low-tech and OTC drugs to high-tech ones, most of which are being exported as well.

As for agricultural biotechnology, Iran can produce a variety of biotechnological fertilizers, pesticides and hybrid seeds. And also, in breeding and germplasm, Iranian institutes are currently developing cutting-edge technologies that can be readily transferred to Kenya.

ISTI has been a source of support for producers of goods and market researchers. The aim is to help the enterprises develop cutting-edge products, increase domestic market share, and enhance international collaborations, etc.
Biotechnology development council, as a member of ISTI organization is about to arrange a number of B2B meetings to create mentioned seamless environment. Such meetings, first off, can make a clear understanding of what the other party wants and then may lead to some effective business-matchings and potential partnerships.

As a necessity, there has been founded some private Export Management Companies (EMCs) under supervision of ISTI, specialized in exporting and bartering products; e.g., Datis Export Management Co. for biotech products that is going to help us accomplish the international missions assigned to us and Iranian House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT) headquartered in Kenya which acts as a representative and facilitator as well.

Speaking to the point, we are going to do some business-match-making between Iranian companies and foreign companies by holding several online B2B meetings following preparatory talks to establish the best-fitting partners. The meetings are going to concentrate on Biotechnology themes being agricultural themes such as agro-inputs and livestock inputs, and medical themes such as pharmaceutical products and medical equipment. The model of joint collaborations can range something between the lowest engagement of companies like trading goods, to the highest engaged models like joint R&D and/or production.

Incidentally, after the sessions are held the effective partnerships will be further tightened by Datis EMC Co., the official agency of the vice presidency under supervision of the government. i.e., the online-met business matches may have more sessions ad hoc, either online or offline in Iran or the party company, to further clarify collaboration models and to sign required letters and contracts. Having said the Datis co. is also readily accessible through Iran’s embassy in the party countries.

In the end, feel free to send any enquiries through the email of Datis EMC Co. on:
